Week 1 Thursday

Summary:

Began with the lesson plan page and took screen shots of all available Alice worlds that could be downloaded from that site. Did the same for the examples page. Went to the official Alice site and discovered they were working on an Alice 3.0. It looks really cool, read some papers on Alice. I think I will start writing captions/descriptions to go with each of the world snapshots.

Thoughts:

Some of the worlds didn’t have anything to do with the lesson plans before it. This makes it confusing I think on the site so we should fix that. Some problems I noted:

couse—>course spelling error
corrdinate—>coordinate spelling error
Pj’s dream broken link—on the examples for 5-12 page (second from the bottom i think)
Alternative Energy: Wind broken link—on the lesson plans page (science section)
TortoiseMacarena2 not working
birthday calculator bug

I don’t know if we want to fix these or not since some of the Alice worlds aren’t meant to be complete and fully functional. I do think there should be a note somewhere about the purpose of each world and why someone would want to download it. Maybe I will do that along with the descriptions that go with the screen shots.
